Led by a veteran, held for veterans and their families. Quiet practice, honest company, and time with horses — offered free or at reduced cost.
Online via Zoom · In person by request · No cost to you
Nestor Romero, Founder of the One Love Family Foundation, was born in Colombia and raised in the United States. From childhood he carried a calling to serve humanity — a calling that led him into both higher education and military service.
He served in the US Army from 1981 to 1995 as a Military Intelligence officer assigned to the Army’s Special Operations Command at Ft Bragg, NC, deploying to Central America and the Caribbean theater in support of US Southern Command.
Those years offered him the opportunity to travel globally, broaden his perspective, and cultivate respect for the resilience and wisdom found in diverse cultures. They also showed him what service costs, and how rarely that cost is spoken about once the uniform comes off.
Nestor’s journey has also been marked by profound personal challenges, including his courageous battle with cancer. That experience served as a transformative initiation — deepening his faith, strengthening his inner light, and affirming his commitment to walk as a living testament of perseverance, healing and grace.
Today Nestor is also a grandfather. That has sharpened this work rather than softened it — he has dedicated his future endeavors to making our world a far better place for our grandchildren and for every generation that follows.
This program is the direct result. It is held by someone who has stood where you stand, and who knows the way through is not walked alone.
Come to one. Come to all four. Nothing here asks you to relive anything you would rather leave alone.
Practice in breath, stillness and nervous-system regulation, held online. No spiritual vocabulary required, and no obligation to speak.
A circle for those who served, and a separate one for military families. What is said in circle stays in circle.
Unhurried, ground-based time with horses. No riding experience needed — the work happens standing still, and the horse sets the pace.
Where more is needed, we connect you with a practitioner in our network — energy work, coaching, grief support — free or at a reduced rate.
Equine programs for veterans and military families are the Foundation’s first co-application target — and Ivey Ranch is where that work is taking shape.
The model is simple, and it is the same one that runs through everything we do. The Foundation brings grant funding it secures, support from founding patrons, volunteers and participants. The Ranch brings the land, the horses, the programs and the on-the-ground expertise. Neither of us builds what the other already has.
For a veteran, the practical translation is this: you arrive at a working ranch, with people who know what they are doing, and the cost has already been addressed.
Draft — confirm Ivey Ranch terms before publishing
One intake. One person who follows up. You are not handed off between agencies.
Fill in the form below, or write to us. Tell us as much or as little as you want to — a name and an email is enough to begin.
A short, unhurried conversation by phone or email. We listen for what is actually needed, and match it to the right part of the program.
You receive the Zoom link, the ranch date, or the practitioner introduction — with the cost already addressed before you arrive.
Looking to serve rather than be served? Veterans make extraordinary volunteers and facilitators.
All meditations are held online, so distance, transport and mobility are never the reason someone misses a session. Camera on or off, entirely your call. Sessions are not recorded.
In-person sessions — including equine time at Ivey Ranch — are arranged case by case, at your request. Ask on the form and we will work out a time and a place with you.
A veteran carrying grief, isolation and financial strain is referred to three organizations, completes one intake, and disappears between them. This is the problem the network was built to solve.— One Love Family Foundation
There is no cost and no waitlist. If you would rather talk first, write to us instead.
If this is not the right doorway, there are others. Tell us what you need and we will point you to someone in the network who can help.
